Liu Xiangang, vice president of China Electronics Standardization Institute, said in a speech on behalf of the organizers that in recent years, under the background of shortage of lithium resources, sharp rise in prices and strong demand for energy storage, the development of the sodium-ion battery industry has accelerated significantly. The world is scrambling to research new batteries. At present, more than 20 companies have announced the successful development of sodium-ion batteries, most of which are Chinese companies. For the industry to develop, standards must come first. In order to further strengthen the overall planning and top-level design of the standardization of sodium-ion batteries, in March this year, referring to the comprehensive standardization technology system of lithium-ion batteries, the Institute of Electronics Standards organized the establishment of the "Na-ion Battery Standard System Research Group", relying on the lithium-ion batteries of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and similar The product standard working group supports the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to carry out the pre-research and compilation of the sodium-ion battery standard system. Li Shujun, general manager of Zhongke Haina Technology Co., Ltd., reviewed and looked forward to the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries. Li Shujun emphasized that there is no need to doubt the future of Nadian, because resources are the underlying logic, and in the end it is the cost that speaks. Other technical performance obstacles can be realized through technological development, and the advantages will always be defeated by trends. From the perspective of Zhongke Haina’s own positioning, it is currently in the stage of industrialization implementation (2023-2025). The first task of this stage is to test the market. It does not have to be done in all markets, nor can it be done in any market. There must be an entry point; The second is to improve the technology. At this stage, it is impossible to solve all the problems, and it is impossible to perfect all the technologies. The main thing is to give full play to the characteristics and advantages of sodium electricity. On this basis, suitable products should be finalized. Li Shujun predicts that the sodium-ion battery industry will enter a mature stage in 2026-2030, and expects to form a TWh-scale industry in 2030. Li Shujun believes that sodium power companies need to meet three criteria if they want to go far: one is to have resource guarantees, the first is financial strength, and there is no continuous investment in the technology research and development stage; the other is to have engineering capabilities, sodium-ion batteries still need to be manufactured Industry, engineering capability is extremely important; the third is to have a technical closed loop, and it is definitely not enough to go it alone. Either you have it yourself, or you can really cooperate closely with the upstream and downstream.
